4WD track in the Canterbury region
Lake Access is a short rocky 4WD run down to the shore of Lake Tekapo in Canterbury, a handy spot to pull over for lunch by the turquoise water.
A short rocky hop down to the edge of Lake Tekapo, good spot to pull over and have a feed. The turquoise water and the open high country around it make it worth the detour even if you're just after a break.
It's a quick run rather than a big trip, but the rocks near the water can be soft, so watch where you park and don't get too keen driving right down to the shore.
