An alternative to the highway, this one runs up through the hills on mostly gravel, with a sealed stretch down at the coast end. It's native bush pretty much the whole way, so it makes a nice change from grinding along the sealed roads.

Nothing too demanding for the driving, just a steady gravel run through the trees. Don't be put off by the 'Extreme Caution' signs at the start, the road itself is fine.

Good one if you want to slow down and take the scenic line instead of the main road.
